School’s out for the Summer, which means it’s time to grab a copy of the City of Greater Geraldton School Holiday Program 2023/24!
Back with another bumper line-up, the ever-popular program features lots to keep the little and big kids entertained over the Christmas and New Year break.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune was pleased to release the newest program.
“The summer holidays are always a great time in Geraldton, but there is no denying it can get tricky to keep the kids entertained over the entire seven-week period,” he said.
“The good news is we have a great line up that is sure to keep young minds and bodies active.
“Grab a hardcopy of City hosted programs, or head to our website for even more events happening throughout Greater Geraldton.”
Opening the summer program is cardmaking at the Geraldton Regional Art Gallery, where kids aged 5 to 12 years old can get in some last-minute Christmas creativity.
January is when the program really gets cooking, with program regulars such as sunset yoga, wheelchair basketball and skate skills clinics.
Geraldton Regional Library will be sharing with young people how to create a cardboard roll fish or the art of junk journalling accordion style.
Other exciting additions include painting, cardmaking and calligraphy workshops, as well as clay sculpting, wearable art and crafty toddler sessions.
The Geraldton Aquarena will be open all summer long with the BIFF and water slide in action from 10am until 3pm on most days.
There will also be learn to roller-skate sessions and even a roller disco to top off the holiday break.
Registrations for many of these events are essential via Eventbrite and details can be found on the City’s website.
In addition to City run events on the physical program, a variety of additional events hosted by external providers can also be found on the City’s events calendar.
Organisers interested in facilitating an activity or workshop with the City in future iterations of the school holiday program are encouraged to complete a School Holiday Program Expression of Interest form or contact the City’s youth team on 9956 6600.
