Get your Santa hats ready and be prepared to shop up a storm as Christmas on the Terrace returns next week to light up the CBD with festive cheer!
With over 100 stallholders joining businesses and entertainers on Marine Terrace, Christmas on the Terrace is one of Geraldton’s most well-loved and attended events.
City of Greater Geraldton Mayor Jerry Clune said this year’s celebrations will be the most accessible to date.
“This year event organisers have gone above and beyond to make sure that everyone in our community can enjoy the festivities,” he said.
“There will be a rickshaw supplied by Access to Leisure and Sport (ATLAS) available for those with mobility challenges and free access to mobility equipment that can also be arranged through Coral Coast Mobility.
“With no shortage of entertainment across three stages along Marine Terrace plus a range of delicious food options to satisfy everyone’s taste buds you would be mad to miss this Christmas on the Terrace.
Edith Cowan Square will play a starring role this year hosting a stage and the Geraldton Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Cape Burney Fire Brigade trucks.
New for this year will be a Christmas Scavenger Hunt, 3v3 basketball and minigolf, as well as all the familiar favourites including face painting, pony rides, games, stilt walkers – and of course the opportunity to meet Santa and get a photo!
“This is a great way to come and support our local businesses and retailers – and get your Christmas shopping done while you’re at it,” Mayor Clune added.
“Not to mention all the fun things going on ensuring an amazing time for the whole family!”
There will be various road closures and changes to parking to allow for set up of the event, and safe access for pedestrians.
